Chinese New Year

Dragon Boat Festival

The festival marks the sacrifice and death anniversary of the well- known poet Qu Yuan who committed self-annihilation as a rebellious measure against the prevalent governmental corruption. As an honor to the great man, boat races are held along the Pearl River.

Mid-Autumn Festival

Observed on the 15th day of the 18th Lunar month, the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated with great pomp and show all over China. Its specialty being the famous Cantonese moon cakes.
