On Thursday, the official unveiling of Madame Tussauds Delhi held in the capital where three wax figures uncovered. The show includes Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Madame Anna Maria ‘Marie’ Tussauds and American pop icon Lady Gaga. The very first wax statue that displayed at the event was that of Mr Amitabh Bachchan. And at the same time when covers of the wax figure pulled down for the audience to have a glimpse of it. At that instant, everyone with their mobile phones and cameras flocked to the front rows to take photos of the wax model.
Social media platforms overwhelmed with pictures of Amitabh Bachchan’s wax Statue with people taking selfies and capturing close-ups of model. One picture came to the notice of the megastar on Twitter. The 74 years old actor who is active on Twitter, often posting his opinions on limited issues. Moreover, he re-tweeted a picture of his recently unveiled wax figure, mistaking it for his photograph.
Amitabh Bachchan Misunderstands His Wax Statue
The wax figure of Bachchan clad in a blue band gala with black trousers was an accurate replica of him. Each detail taken so diligently that the Shehenshah of Bollywood himself got confused and thought it to be his photograph. Therefore he tweeted, “It is a close up of the Madam Tussauds image in wax in Delhi, and gosh I thought it was my photograph.” Each wax figure constructed with the expertise of over 20 local & international artists working to ensure an actual visitor experience.
“The complete process begin with a sitting. A sitting is the two hours long session that we use with a celebrity. We take all sorts of measurements, photographs and hair. Also, we take samples of skins tones, close up pictures of the eyes, we go close with the personality. Further, we give all the information to the UK in the studios where a creative team comes together. And begins with the creation of the wax figure,” said Petra, the studio artist at Madame Tussauds, to News18.com.
As far as the price of the ticket is concerned, Anshul Jain, General Manager and Director of Merlin Entertainments India Private Ltd, said that the prices will remain affordable though details kept under covers as of now. “We’re the tourist attraction, so with the standard and quality of figures, you can imagine what it will be. The figure cost is very comfortable for all classes and all people. It will be very competitive. There will also be excellent prices for school people and some other sections,” Anshul Jain said at a press conference. It is the 23rd branch of Madame Tussauds across the world.
