Raveena Tandon starrer Maatr sees on the road to the justice for women who are sufferers of violence and rape. “I found the script very delightful, as it showed how one could deal with criminals indulging in crime against women while resting on the right side of the law. As a society, we need to change our laws to protect women,” Tandon said in a statement. “This film deals with the violence at a significant level, not just rape, but it includes every type of violence which has done with women. The cases which we typically see in our life.’

The actress, who has often talked about women empowerment, plays the role of a mother in the film, which also features Slumdog Millionaire actor Madhur Mittal fame, as the antagonist. Michael Pellico is the writer and Ashtar Sayed is the director. While CDB Musical produces the Mother in alliance with Manoj Adhikari Production, Anjum Rizvi Film Co, and Pugmark Films Pvt Ltd.
Maatr – The Mother will release in India on 21st of April. Raveena Tandon is a formal Indian Model, producer and actress. Raveena made her debut in the film Patthar Ke Phool in 1991.
