The Exclusive start of the mega event Thar and Parkar Festival features sports as well as cultural events as animal races, musical concerts. The event also features an exhibition of local handmade handicrafts besides impressive embroidery. The event formally inaugurated with the hands of Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Sardar Shah at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Auditorium. Local singers like Nizakat Sadiq Faqeer, Pancho Pakistani, Arif Faqeer, Rajab Faqeer, Nehal Nimano and some others entertained the audience well. The prominent poets from Thar combined with other areas of Sindh together with Khalil Kumbhar, Partab Shivani, Saindad Sand, Piyaro Shivani, Dileep Doshi Lohano, Bilawal Otho, Bharumal Amrani, Shahab Nohrio, Haji Sand and others read out the poetry of them at the festival. Mr Shah well ahead inaugurated the Folk Music Academy launched by famous local singer Karim Faqeer.
