The National Award winning singer Sukhwinder Singh said that the music of Vishal Bhardwaj directorial Rangoon is very opera-like. He made his debut in the film industry as a playback singer with 1986 movie Karma. The film, features Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor. “Rangoon is a very high, musical flick and the music of Rangoon is like a libretto,” he stated.

Collaborations between Bhardwaj and Singh are always lucky; they worked together for Omkara, Kaminey, Ishqiya and Haider. Talking about Vishal Bhardwaj, the most talented singer stated few words. According to him, “The best thing about Vishal Bhardwaj is that he has three qualities together in him as he is a writer, director and composer. The primary content in the movie is the story. And the same way, in a film’s music the composition is the main content, And Vishal has an excellent command on both of them.”
On the music of Rangoon, Singh elaborated: “It is extraordinary and very resourceful. The film director is the composer also, so all his songs are a demand of story. He is a fantastic musician.” Sukhwinder Singh worked as a playback singer and he got fame with the song ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’. He won Filmfare Award in 1999 for Best Male Playback Singer. Sukhwinder worked for the great actors like Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Saif Ali Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Also he worked forAbhishek Bachchan, Tushar Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmukh and Sanjay Dutt. On the other hand, Vivek Oberoi, Shabbir Ahluwalla, Kunal Kapoor, Suny Deol, and Farhan Akhtar are also in the list.
His Album released in 2001 entitled as Jashn. He worked for the movies as a playback singer since 1986. He sings for Amar Prem, Shivaay, Sultan, Janatha Garage, Jaanisar, Tamasha, Talvar, Dil Dhadkane Do and Bajirao Mastani. Kill Dill, Zed Plus, Happy new Year, Million Dollar Arm also has voice of Sukhwinder Singh. There are numberless movies in which he had sung and we cannot mention all of them here.
