1st semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 was held between Pakistan v England on 14th June 2017 at Cardiff. Pakistan won the toss and invited England for batting. Pakistani bowling was superb yesterday as they restrict English batsmen at just 211. JE Root was the top scorer from the England side with 46 while the opener Bairstow scores 43. Hassan Ali was the highest wicket taker having three wickets from Pakistan’s side. Pakistani batsmen chase the target in just 37.1 overs, and Azhar Ali was the highest scorer with 76 runs. Hassan Ali was the man of the match because of his extraordinary bowling. After this win, Pakistan slightly moves to the Final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Pakistan will face the winning team of the 2nd semifinal between Bangladesh and India.

The opening partnership of England innings was not so good because they lose their first wicket on 34. While Bairstow does his efforts to give support to the scorecard and he was caught of 43 on the ball of Hassan Ali. Moreover, JE Root gives another energy to his team innings by scoring 46 runs, his partnership with Morgan was of 48 runs. Hence, all the batting line flop on 211 runs against Pakistani bowling attack.

Hassan Ali was the most successful bowler from Pakistan side as he takes three wickets with the economy of 3.50. Whereas, Junaid Khan and Rumman Raees shares two wickets each with economies of 4.75 and 4.88 respectively. Shadab Khan was successful to take only one wicket of JE Root.

Pakistan’s innings was total a miracle as the opening pair make a partnership of 118 runs and it is the above 100 opening for Pakistan after two years. Fakhar Zaman again performs in this match like the previous one as was out at his career best 57 runs. But Azhar Ali continues his efforts for his team to make another partnership of 55 runs with Babar Azam and he was bowled on 76 runs. Babar Azam and Muhammad Hafeez were not out until the end of the match with the score of 38 and 31 runs respectively.
