Islamabad United batsman Khalid Latif, along with fellow player Sharjeel Khan provisionally suspended over suspected match-fixing. During the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches, has claimed that he is innocent.
After being sent back to home from Dubai, Khalid Latif has started discussions with lawyers for a legal course of action. He attended with a lawyer on Monday for judicial counsel. Earlier today, when asked by reporters for comments over his suspension, Latif contended he was not guilty because he hasn’t done anything wrong. “God is witness to this. I never did anything erroneous,” he alleged.
Khalid Latif Pakistan Cricket Board on Match Fixing
PCB on Friday excluded Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan for their affirmed links with an international association that attempted to corrupt the PSL. A regular charge sheet is being prepared by the PCB on the two national cricketers for spot-fixing in PSL 2017. “Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif have deferred, and the arduous and wide-ranging investigation by the PCB maintained by the ICC will continue as part of cooperative efforts to protect the honour of the sport,” the PCB responded in a statement.
PCB has sufficient evidence that two cricketers admitted doing spot-fixing in meeting with the presumed bookie, who has known as Yousaf. Meanwhile, PCB is assumed to announce the establishment of a larger commission within 15 days to investigate corruption in cricket.
Both Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif play for Islamabad United in the 2nd edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL). Sharjeel worked the opening match of the 2017 edition for defending champions Islamabad United toward Peshawar Zalmi, while Latif was not a member of the playing XI.
Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches started since 9th of February 2017 in Dubai. The schedule of Tournament has already announced, and the matches would be played in Dubai and Sharjah whether the final will be played in Lahore. Islamabad United had an opening game of 2nd edition HBL PSL with Peshawar Zalmi.
