The Active film producer & director Karan Johar reveals that he felt Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Satya’ is a well-directed film than his own debut romantic film, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’.
Ram Gopal Varma Satya was better directed than Kuch Kuch Hota Hai – Karan Johar
Karan Johar said while speaking at a press conference of Jio Filmfare Awards. He said, “For my first movie (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai), I was contending (for Filmfare Award) with a very high film named ‘Satya’. I felt that it was the well-directed film of mine. I had thought maybe Ram Gopal Varma would walk away with an award and he got the award.”
Karan stated that “I thought even then I would get an award. And that time I was sitting in the third row my speech was mumbling. It was surely a big deal for me to win my Filmfare for the first time. Although, I remember all the emotions attached to it. And how I was going through the situation when Madhuri Dixit handed me that award. I was entirely excited at that time.”
Film-fare awards have been forward in its motion of times and always honour good work without prejudice and favoritism. Karan Johar said. He added, “Sometimes even some hearts break for not winning the awards, including my heart.”
On the question, if he ever lobbied for the award? Karan Johar replied. “He walks through a lobby for receiving an award. But he had never lobbied for it. Consequently, he has never called up any person for this purpose. Should he ready films or lobby for the awards? He doesn’t think it happens.”
He elaborated that after making a perfect and great project you have no need to call anyone more. ‘I think those persons who are confident about their films. They have no want to call someone for the award.” Karan Johar has given the industry significant projects which are matchless and not to be forgotten. As Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, My Name is Khan and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
