Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Haraamkhor Will Release on Friday


After an extraordinary screening of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shweta Tripathi starrer Haraamkhor, celebrities like Kalki Koechlin and Vicky Kaushal were grateful of how the “compelling story” has told. The Jio MAMI Film Club with Star premiered the movie on Tuesday night.

Kalki said: “I seen an early cut of the film about two or three years ago. I loved this movie and genuinely excited to see the final output. I am very proud of (the director) Shlok Sharma that, eventually, he got the film out. He is a good friend of me from many years, so I am jubilant for him.

“It is a very great story, and both Shweta and Nawazuddin did an exceptional job.” Vicky, who displayed with Shweta in “Masaan”, said: “To some extent, I am also part of the campaign of this project. Nawaz bhai, Shlok (Sharma), Shweta are all my dear friends. I am conscious of all the difficulties the film had to face. Finally, the film is travelling to release. I am feeling euphoric for the entire team.”


Shalok Sharma directs the movie and Guneet Monga, Feroze Alameer, Anurag Kashyap, and Achin Jain are its producers. The music composer of the film is Jasleen Royal. The film shot completed in just 16 days. A FIR registered in April of 2015 against Shlok Sharma, the director of the movie. FIR registered on an accusation by Balbharati, Maharashtra’s textbook bureau. The objection was about to striking similarities between its logo and promotion scenes from Haraamkhor. Haraamkhor premiered at Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) and 15th annual New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF).

The crowd-funded the film about a student-teacher romance faced complications with the censor board. It is releasing on Friday after receiving a green signal for the movie from the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal. This film also won the Silver Gateway of India trophy at the 17th Edition of the MAMI film festival.
