They were claiming that the director is “distorting facts” in the movie which is about Alauddin’s fascination with Rani Padmavati. While Ajit Andhare stated that they don’t want to hurt any community in their country or worldwide.

“The incident which got a place on the sets of Padmavati is saddening and shocking. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a veteran with an acclaimed variety of work,” stated Ajit Andhare, COO of Viacom18 Motion Pictures. “We stand with him and our film which is a celebration of the Rani and what she represented. Sincerely we don’t want to hurt the emotions of any person or community. We were not expecting this type of response,” he continued. Padmavati stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor.
Bhansali also strongly denounced the destruction and attack on the sets of his film and said the incident was “gratuitous for” and extremely damaging to the image of the beautiful city. “We clarify that there is no dream sequence or any objectionable scene between Rani Padmavati and Allauddin Khilji. Furthermore we have keenly studying and doing the research then making the film.
